LEJOG 12/02/2011

So, it’s that time again, and one which you’ve all been waiting for, and that’s a recent Blog update to see how the team is doing. Now this edition comes from another member of the team, Braze, Brazier, Mickey, Mikee, Michael, Bizzle, Mike (depending on at what stage you met me!).

So a lot has happened since the last outing. The team (All but Tom) are still plugging away at the miles and this Saturday just hit a milestone at what was 60miles with guest rider for the week being Garry and his Tri training. The route was put together by Marc with an initial estimate of 75miles, still, none the less 60 miles gave us a very good insight at what we have to accomplish by signing up to this challenge!

The route started off well with the usual direction out towards Cirencester…the sun was shining, moral was high, and the usual high spirited friendly sprints looking like a scene from the Tour De France entailed. I think this was the last of the high moral, and after mile 30, things got a little tough!

Heading out round Swindon we met a few good hills to challenge us, some of us making it to the summit faster than others, but alas, we all made it up, and no one got off to walk, which was great to see!

Many Bananas, strawberry laces, energy drink and a mid ride treat to a Chocolate rabbit bought by the infamous Garry on his Tri bike made sure we were fuelled to the end!

Highlight of the trip – Having a short ride with a local club out to Cirencester with their superbly practiced junction crossings…Cue Wiltshire accent ”carrrrr”….”all clearrrrr”….and many to follow throughout the whole ride.

Good work all round guys, and here’s to more rides like that as the summer get closer.

Go Team! – High Five.

A few pictures to follow from Ross, who I believe took a few snaps on his fancy phone.
