Happy New Year!!!

Well back into the training regime and the post Christmas belly is working its way off.... Slowly!

Good news is we all now own racing bikes or have managed to borrow one and are into the training zone.

This week 3 of the team went out joined by Calum for our first ride altogether and the excesses of the Christmas festivities were definitely rearing their ugly head for me and maybe Ross but Mikey seemed to have all his cylinders firing.

We didn't go far and we did visit Greasy Joes but only for a brew no matter how tempting the belly buster burger sounded!!! I seem to recall a comparison was made of the ride to a poor stage of the Tour de France with 4 blokes lost in the Wiltshire countryside. In our defence the wind was gusting at 40mph in our faces, I swear it switched direction when we got half way.

We did finish with a bacon sarnie, a slice of lardy cake, a pint of finest home brew. Bang went the 1500 calories we had just worked off!!!

We have also had a route map fine tune to make sure we got to all the camp sites along the way. Somehow a new campsite appears to have popped up meaning we don't need to stay in the naturist site any more.
We have had a few transport woes as well. The bus we booked from the school has been withdrawn from public rental as they are converting into an academy in the summer. So we are hunting for a people carrier, van or minibus to hire or barrow. So if you know anybody who maybe able to help get them to give me a call. Remember though we are doing this for charity but we are paying for all the expenses of the trip ourselves, our last bus was costing us just under£400 so we don't want to spend any more than this if we can help it.
