Developments this week

What a rubbish week!! Have been suffering with the Ebola virus which has seriously hampered my training and in order to combat the fever many jam doughnuts have been consumed along with my first mince pie of the year. The Inbetweeners was exceptionally funny this week which cheered me up.

We now have three riders and a volunteer driver - Happy Days!!!!! Nothing can stop us now. Team name to be decided and whether a full set of matching lycra's is required is for a debate over a few vodka based cocktails.

The date for the event is looking like the begining of July once Tom 'no challenge too big' Stroud has managed to get rid of all of his students from the posh school somewhere in Surrey. The third rider (and this one was a suprise) is my brother Ross who also works for the same building contractor as myself and who I was expecting the 'that's gay' response from. Don't know if he'll be donning the lycra straight away but I reckon once he feels the chaff of jeans over a 100mile training ride, he will forefiet his pride.

Also this week the new steed has arrived in dribs and drabs and will be going out for its first 50 miler in the morning. Word of advice - Winstanley's don't pre-deliver inspect their bikes before they post them out or they would've notice the steerer tube was about 2" longer than necessary and I have no idea how they make any money as odd parts of my order are sent out and the postage is more than the cost of the parts....

Next week routing... and we have not committed to a particular charity yet so that needs to be sorted out too.
